The unit was converted in station by our members, with some work being done at the SCI Mahanoy machine shop. It has all-wheel drive and can go just about anywhere. Its purpose is to serve as a back-up to R993, and be used for off-road incidents and during the Winter months. It is equipped with a 3-bottle 5000lb. cascade system, Phoenix hydraulic rescue tools, generator, 2-Scott 4500 SCBA w/ 2 spare cylinders,  hi-lift jacks, cribbing, air chisels, hand tools, ropes, spill containment, portable lights, and EMS equipment.

SQUAD 468

WATER RESCUE TRAILER

This trailer was purchased in 2008 and was finished entirely by our Dive Team. It carries all of our scuba, swiftwater, and ice rescue equipment. There is also a small crew area for changing clothes. It can be pulled by either Squad 468, Rescue 469, or members POV. Before this all the gear was split between R993, R469, and a scuba room in the station. With everything in one unit, it greatly reduces our response time to an incident.Below is an interior view.

TRENCH RESCUE TRAILER

Our company, along with Yorkville Hose Co. Pottsville,  were each assigned one of these trailers as part of the newly formed Schuylkill County Rescue Task Force. It is equipped with airshores, jacks, shoring materials, planks,  and various other equipment needed for a trench rescue. The unit will be called upon to respond with Squad 468 and Rescue 993 to incidents not only in Schuylkill County, but anywhere in Pennsylvania.
