RESCUE 469

1985 Chevy/Grumman  4x4 Light Rescue. Was formerly in service with the US Army as a field medical unit and was acquired through the State DCNR Surplus Program in 1997. Work to convert the rig to a light rescue was done by Yassile Body Works, SCI Mahanoy, and in station by the members. Its purpose is to get in areas where Rescue 993 cannot such as off-road rescue and severe weather. It also serves as a backup should the heavy rescue be committed on another incident. Equipment includes a 3 bottle 5000lb cascade system,  Phoenix hydraulic rescue tools, cribbing, air chisels, hi-lift jacks, portable/fixed lighting, medical gear, SCBA, and forcible entry tools. It has a  hitch to pull the water rescue trailer.

SQUAD 468

WATER RESCUE TRAILER

This unit was built entirely in station during the early months of 2008 by members of the Dive Team. It carries all of our scuba, swiftwater, and ice rescue equipment. There is a small crew area for changing suits. It can be pulled by Squad 468, Rescue 469, or several members POV's Before this, all the gear was split between 993, 469, and a scuba room in the station. With everything in one unit, it greatly reduces our response time.

TRENCH RESCUE TRAILER

Our company, along with Yorkville Hose Company in Pottsville, was assigned this trailer as part of the Schuylkill County Rescue Task Force. It is equipped with airshores, jacks, shoring materials. and various support equipment needed for a trench rescue incident. The unit will be called upon to respond with Squad 468 and Rescue 993 to incidents not only in our county, but all of Pennsylvania.
