I-81 "Highway To Hell" March 2001
This incident occurred on a foggy Palm Sunday Morning 2001. Involved were dozens of vehicles, including several tractor trailers, a few of which became giant balls of fire. There were numerous injuries and two fatalities. I-81 was closed between Mahanoy City and Frackville for nearly a 24-hour period. It ranks as one of the most serious responses in company history.
